WELCOME TO ASHILL, HOLME HALE and DISTRICT GARDEN CLUB

Our Garden Club was formed in July 2004 at Ashill Community Centre by ten enthusiastic gardeners who formed a committee and established aims. It is good to know that most of those founder members remain with the Club – and that the £6 annual subscription is still the same!

Our membership has both increased in number (currently we have about 100 members), and also in geographical scope, to include not only Ashill and Holme Hale but also Necton, Swaffham and Watton and surrounding areas. In 2021 the name was changed to Ashill, Holme Hale and District Garden Club to reflect this wider catchment area.

We meet on the fourth Thursday of each month at  2.30pm at Holme Hale Pavilion, School Road, Holme Hale, IP25 7PD. The village is situated about five miles south-east of Swaffham.

We regularly invite visiting speakers to talk about plants, gardening and related topics. At meetings we run competitions, a raffle and plant sales. The highlight of our year is the Flower Show which takes place in June. We also have a Fruit & Vegetable Show in late August. We have two coach outings a year and often two or three afternoon visits to local gardens. Our Christmas Party is in December and an annual summer barbecue.

Membership for the year is just £6, with visitors charged £2 a meeting (refunded if you join by next meeting) and we can guarantee you a warm welcome.

If you are interested in joining the Club you can contact us via email at: ashillholmehalegardenclub@gmail.com, or phone either our Chair Neville McBrien on 07778147850 or our Treasurer Joy Clark on 01760 440261 – or  just come along to our next monthly meeting for a warm welcome.
